DC CPM Society History
On 11 July 1998, the first class of Certified Public Manager's graduated
from the CPM program initiationed by the District of Columbia
Government. Planning for the creation of the DC Society
of Certified Public Managers began almost immediately.

Key events:
1 July 1997: The District of Columbia Government announces the members of its first class of Certified Public Managers.
27 July 1997: Classes begin.
11 July 1998: The first class of CPMs in the District of Columbia graduates.
June 2000: DC Society of Certified Public Managers officially recognized at the National AACPM Conference in St. Petersburg, FL.
